We are looking for a CG Supervisor to join our team who will implement the established studio CG workflows and pipeline for you designated project, ensuring outputs meet studio standards and fulfill the director’s creative vision while adhering to project’s assumptions and schedules.
This is a fixed term, 6 months contract. Must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project’s CG crew to ensure effective project delivery.
- Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor and department CG supervisors to ensure effective pipeline implementation.
- Define the best production plan for creating CG assets, working in an Unreal Engine environment.
- Work with Project Directors to deliver CG outputs that fulfill the desired “look” of the project within the project’s assumptions and schedules.
- Lead the CG team to Identify and resolve technical or other bottlenecks in the project.
- Advise stakeholders when production assumptions are breached and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with the project’s Producer and Production Manager on the project’s schedule.
- Facilitate effective communication between Directors, Producers, and the CG team to ensure clarity on project workflow, pipeline, and production challenges.
- Lead technical direction for asset build and episodic requirements within the pipeline which includes an Unreal Engine environment.
- Manage the episodic technical requirements for sequences and assets in an Unreal Engine Environment.
- Oversee the technical writing of procedures for designated project.
- Manage the offshore teams use of project workflows and pipeline in collaboration with the VFX Supervisor and Department CG supervisors.
Key Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of CG pipelines across disciplines such as modeling, rigging, lighting, rendering, and visual FX.
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine and considered a plus
- Technical skills:
- Strong technical understanding of CG animation software, e.g. Unreal Engine and Autodesk Maya, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Z-brush, and Houdini.
- Ability to use Autodesk’s Shotgun effectively in production.
- Strong knowledge of ‘RV’ media player.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a CG or Department Supervisor on long-format projects or feature films.
- Experience in CG asset creation and CG shot production.
- Experience in leading a team.
Within the first 6 months in the role it is expected the successful candidate will have strong working knowledge of the studio’s proprietary production software and tools, I.E. Script breakdown tool, ticket system, Publish console, MV Uploader, review submission tool, Component Organiser, Asset Assemblies workflow and become an expert in the studio’s ‘weighting’ system and its application to production.
