Following a mixed reaction from fans at news of the Amazon MGM Studios acquisition of the franchise, studio execs this week declared their intentions with the appointment of Denis Villeneuve to direct the next edition..
A self declared Bond fan, Villeneuve is renowned for his stunning visuals in the likes of Dune and Blade Runner 2049 as well as gritty action in Sicario. UK Government Goes All-In on Creative Tech - to the tune of £380 million..
The UK government has announced £380 million in targeted funding to support innovation, access to finance, R&D, skills and regional growth across the UK in its Creative Industries Sector Plan.
Winners include:
- £150 million Creative Places Growth Fund to support regions outside of London
- £25 million CoSTAR R&R Labs funding 5 new labs + 2 showcase spaces - think ABBA Voyages immersive experiences and theatre productions like The Picture of Dorian Gray.
- £10 million investment in the NFTS to train 2,000 new apprentices and trainees over the next decade.
- £9 million Creative Careers Service to raise awareness of creative career opportunities for young people.
