Position Overview
Zynga is seeking a Senior Concept Artist to join one of our Game Teams. You’ll create high-quality concept art and final game assets while collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure visuals align with product goals, gameplay needs, and strong UX principles. You will work closely with the Art Head and Product teams to define and deliver the visual identity of the game, while contributing to team planning and mentoring where needed.
What you will do
- Create high-quality concept art (UI, characters, environments) and final in-game artwork.
- Translate product requirements and player needs into clear, visually intuitive designs.
- Collaborate with Design and UX to ensure clarity, readability, and strong player flow.
- Build UI art and scalable UI kits with a systems-oriented approach.
- Provide feedback to third-party art vendors and ensure quality.
- Analyze top-performing games and apply relevant visual and UX insights.
- Design using strong principles of layout, color, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Produce quick sketches, storyboards, and mockups to communicate ideas.
- Integrate assets into the game engine and collaborate with Engineering and Production.
- Support project planning through estimation, prioritization, and identifying dependencies.
- Mentor and guide junior artists with feedback, best practices, and creative direction.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
What you will bring
- 6+ years as a concept artist and UI artist (portfolio required).
- Strong visual design skills: composition, color, readability, and style adaptation.
- Solid understanding of UX and how visuals support product and gameplay goals.
- Ability to quickly visualize ideas and iterate in early concept phases.
- Strong organization, documentation, and asset-tracking skills.
- Experience integrating art into game engines.
- Ability to identify issues early and propose practical visual solutions.
- BFA or equivalent; proficient in Adobe Suite.
