Nexus Studios is looking for an Imaging Specialist who will sit between our 2D/Comp and Creative Technology teams. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who has recently graduated or is at the start of their career, with a passion for exploring AI-driven image generation.
You’ll work closely with artists, directors, and producers to experiment with AI tools, creating still and moving imagery that supports concept art, visual development, and R&D. A strong knowledge of film, photography, and imagery is essential, along with a curiosity for how technology can push visual storytelling in new directions.
This is a new opportunity to be part of a progressive, creative studio that is fully embracing AI-driven animation and filmmaking. You’ll be supported by senior artists and technologists while contributing to highly innovative and beautifully art directed projects.
Please note that this is a permanent role and you will be required to work from our studio in Shoreditch, London for a minimum of 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Experiment with AI-based tools to create still and moving images.
- Contribute to the development of treatments, styleframes, and visual explorations.
- Support creative teams with moodboards, research, and visual references.
- Assist in integrating AI-generated outputs into wider animation and VFX workflows.
- Stay up to date with emerging platforms and share learnings with the team.
- Organise and manage generated assets for use across projects.
Skills & Experience
- Recently graduated (or equivalent experience) in animation, VFX, film, digital art, or a related field.
- Strong visual literacy and passion for film, imagery, and storytelling.
- Familiarity with AI creative tools (e.g., MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, Runway, Pika, etc.) or an eagerness to learn.
- Knowledge of compositing or 3D software (e.g., After Effects, Nuke, Blender, Cinema 4D) is a plus.
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- A curious and experimental approach to image-making.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
You will ideally have:
- Enthusiasm for emerging technologies in visual storytelling.
- Eagerness to experiment and learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to balance artistic sensibility with technical exploration.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
