As the Junior Accountant Payable, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial management and planning of our company. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills in a creative, nurturing and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Invoice Management: Process and manage supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accuracy and correct coding.
- Approvals: Maintain the approvals software and ensure approval workflows are correct.
- Payment Processing: Coordinate bi-weekly pay run, by ensuring timely payments to suppliers while adhering to company processes and policies.
- Vendor Management: Maintaining positive relationships with vendors and managing payment terms.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: weekly reconciliation of the aged creditors report.
- Staff Expense: Process, monitor, support and reconcile staff accounts in line with company policies. Order foreign currency and distribute per diems as required.
- Log fixed asset updates and support with the Fixed Asset Register maintenance.
- Assist with AP mailbox management.
- Assist with filing, record keeping and document management.
- Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation of AP related accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly VAT returns, ONS submissions, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist Finance Manager with year-end statutory audit requests and other ad hoc tasks as required.
- Compliance & Controls: Adhering to financial regulations and internal controls to prevent fraud risk.
Requirements
- At least 1 year's experience in an AP role
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and reporting.
- Confident Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Pro-active attitude to problem solving,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
