Who You Are
You are a highly experienced Senior Animator with a passion for breathing life into characters and creatures. You excel at creating realistic and dynamic animations for feature films, episodic television, and commercials. You have a strong understanding of anatomy, weight, and movement and can bring performances to life with nuance and believability. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with animation supervisors and directors to achieve the highest level of quality.
What You’ll Do
- Animate realistic human characters, creatures, and other assets in Maya.
- Work closely with Animation Supervisors and Directors to execute the creative vision of a project.
- Apply a deep understanding of body mechanics, weight, and movement to produce high-quality animation.
- Adapt animation styles to match the tone and visual style of the production.
- Work on-the-box / on shots; troubleshooting and providing solutions.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience as an Animator in a high-end VFX or animation studio.
- Expert proficiency in Maya and a strong understanding of animation principles.
- Experience animating both bipedal and quadrupedal characters, as well as complex creature rigs.
- Strong knowledge of motion capture data and how to refine it for production use.
- Ability to animate physically accurate and weighty performances while maintaining artistic expression.
- Familiarity with Flow (formerly Shotgrid/Shotgun).
- Experience collaborating with rigging teams to refine animation controls and improve workflow efficiency.
- Strong artistic and technical problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- A positive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to take direction and iterate quickly.
