Key Purpose of the Job
The Production Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex production schedules and budgets for our Feature Animated projects. The role requires an understanding of the CG production pipeline, and extreme attention to detail. With our show Producers and Production Managers, the position is responsible for maintaining the show’s master sequence and quota schedule, and scenario planner. The Production Analyst will also provide ad hoc analytical support to the shows Department Production Staff, partnering with them to ensure the show is accurately scheduled, reported, and forecasted.
Needs to Do:
- Requires understanding of the CG production process from artistic, managerial, and operational perspectives. They must achieve and balance both the creative and operational goals of DNEG Animation.
- Develop and maintain the show’s master sequence and quota schedule, and scenario planner with the Producers and Production Managers.
- With the Producers and Production Managers, ensure show inventory is flowing through the CG pipeline and that all departments monitor their daily inventory levels, providing accurate output figures and forecasts.
- Partner with the shows Production Staff to collate and analyze the show’s master and individual department schedules, reports, and forecasts, ensuring database upkeep and accuracy.
- Provide show analytics to the Resource Schedule Manager to help forecast resource requirements globally.
- Provide show analytics to the Production Finance Analyst to generate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the IMS team on continued development projects in Shotgun, Microsoft Project, Spotfire, and other production applications to ensure schedule and forecast accuracy, and to streamline analytics.
- Encouraged to make recommendations for improvements to production and pipeline systems, particularly with respect to scheduling, flow of information, milestone realization, and client reporting.
- Involved in strategic planning for current and upcoming projects with the DNEG Animation leadership team.
