Job Description
The role
Senior Roto Artists are responsible for creating high quality perfect mattes and articulate mattes to help Paint Artists and Compositors to integrate seamlessly all elements of a shot to the highest level of VFX photo-realism.
Key skills
- Create roto mattes for Composite/paint dept to use with an understanding of how the mattes will be used.
- Handle complex shots, with elements in multiple layers, extensive motion blur and focus pulls.
- 2D Tracking, camera tracking and planar tracking in both Silhouette and Nuke
- Take ownership and responsibility of the roto task, actively engaging in problem-solving to address potential issues.
- Previous experience in rotoscoping using Silhouette or Nuke.
- Understand feedback given by lead or supervisors.
- Work with the team, within the studio and globally.
- Desire to learn and mentor junior artists.
