As an Associate Lead QA Analyst, you will be responsible for owning the test strategy for game features within one of our cross-discipline pods. You will analyse what needs to be tested, write and run tests, as well as log bugs and report your work to your team.
What You'll Do:
- Own the end-to-end test strategy for large and complex features independently, proactively seeking support where necessary.
- Directly perform all parts of the fundamental test process: test planning, test analysis, test design, test execution and reporting.
- Inspect designs, concepts, wireframes and code to analyse test requirements and risks for both tech-driven and design-driven features.
- Use your understanding of Unity development and code to ask
- Review test plans created by other members of the QA team.
- Use a range of public and internal tools to perform grey-box testing.
- Demonstrate an ability to balance priorities of planned feature work with reactive live game issues and events.
- Identify problems with designs, schedules and plans to prevent bugs from occurring before they are written into code.
- Communicate test details and risks to stakeholders using language that they can understand and digest.
What You Bring:
- 4+ years of experience in game testing.
- Proven experience working within a game studio as part of a cross-discipline embedded QA team.
- Proficient in mobile device testing with an understanding of the bug patterns and techniques unique to the platform.
- Experience testing games-as-a-service projects, using remote data tools, balancing feature work against reactive live issues and prioritising work.
- Strong emotional intelligence with a focus on self-awareness, self-evaluation and an ability to empathise with the goals and perspectives of other functions.
- Experience testing projects built with Unity, with demonstrable Unity development skills and Editor knowledge also strongly preferred.
- Experience of technical areas and tooling when testing on mobile: Network tools, performance tools, analytics tools, API test tooling.
- Familiarity with source control (Git) and branching strategies, as well as how they influence test activities throughout the pipeline.
- An ISTQB Foundation certificate or equivalent.
Bonus:
- Demonstrable examples of personal game projects built in Unity with C#.
- ISTQB advanced or specialist level certificates, or equivalents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Game Design, or related field.
