Job Description:
We’re looking for a Creative Director for the Gameplay & Monetisation domain in Candy Crush Soda Saga - to help shape the future of one of the world’s most beloved puzzle games.
You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of designers and own the creative direction for how Soda plays, feels, and rewards its players. From the puzzle experience itself to the systems that power our economy and monetisation, you’ll craft experiences that are engaging, intuitive, and rewarding for millions of players every day.
This role is a key part of Soda’s design leadership and is part of the leadership team for the Gameplay & Monetisation domain - a 50+ person team focused on evolving Soda’s core experiences. The G&M domain shapes everything from gameplay and systems to how players engage, progress and are rewarded.
Your Role in Our Kingdom
Own the creative vision across core gameplay, economy, and monetisation systems — connecting player joy with business impact.
Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of 20 designers (UX, UI, Game, Level and Economy) to deliver work that’s imaginative, cohesive, and player-first.
Drive clarity and cohesion across everything we design - from feature systems to the smallest UI detail.
Collaborate deeply with Product, Analytics, Engineering, and Marketing partners to turn insights into delightful, scalable experiences.
Champion the player - ensuring every design choice makes Soda more fun, fair, and rewarding.
Grow creative excellence through mentorship, feedback, and clear direction that helps designers do their best work.
Build the future of design at Soda - improving our design systems, tools, and ways of working to help creativity scale.
Skills to Create Thrills
A strong creative vision paired with strategic instincts — you know how to connect design craft to business and monetisation goals.
Proven experience leading creative or design teams in a fast-paced, live-service environment.
Deep understanding of player motivation, game systems, and mobile UX/UI.
The ability to inspire teams and influence product direction through creativity and clarity.
A track record of turning complex systems into simple, joyful player experiences.
A love for collaboration — you thrive when working closely with engineers, analysts, and PMs.
Experience developing and scaling teams, with a focus on craft growth and culture
Bonus:
Experience in mobile gaming or live-service consumer products.
Background in economy or systems design.
Hands-on experience across multiple design disciplines.
