As a Senior QA Analyst, you will be responsible for owning the test strategy for game features within one of our cross-discipline feature teams. You will analyse what needs to be tested, write and run tests, as well as log bugs and report your work to your team.
What You'll Do:
- Own the end-to-end test strategy for features independently and proactively seek support when needed
- Perform all parts of the fundamental test process with guidance: test planning, test analysis, test design, test execution and reporting
- Perform testing in the Unity Editor and on-device across iOS, Android and Amazon
- Own testing for new code features, content additions and live-ops updates
- Use public and internal tools to perform grey-box and black-box testing
- Demonstrate an ability to balance priorities of planned feature work with reactive live game issues and events
- Inspect designs, concepts, wireframes and code to analyse test requirements and risks for design-driven features, seeking support for tech-driven features and more technically complex components
- Identify problems with designs, schedules and plans to support bug prevention
- Communicate test details and risks to stakeholders using language that they can understand and digest
- Review test plans created by other members of the QA team
What You Bring:
- Experience in game testing or adjacent domains
- Experience testing or building projects in Unity, with demonstrable Unity development skills and Unity Editor knowledge also strongly preferred
- Experience working within a game studio as part of a cross-discipline embedded QA team
- Strong emotional intelligence with a focus on self-awareness, self-evaluation and an ability to empathise with the goals and perspectives of other functions
- An organised, analytical and thorough approach to all tasks
- An ability to communicate concisely and precisely, both written and verbally
- An awareness of mobile device testing with an understanding of the bug patterns and techniques unique to the platform
- Familiarity with source control (Git) and branching strategies, as well as how they influence test activities throughout the pipeline
Bonus:
- Demonstrable examples of personal game projects built in Unity with C#
- ISTQB foundation certification or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Game Design, or related field
