Position Overview:
As a Senior Technical Artist, you will serve as a versatile problem-solver, bridging the gap between art and technology. Your primary responsibility will be to craft tools, shaders, animations and code-driven behaviors, setting the stage for our Art team to deliver their final polish and taking care of every visual problem that arises in the game. You’ll thrive in a role that demands quick adaptation to new workflows, investigation of innovative solutions, and the ability to diagnose and resolve pipeline challenges with precision and logic.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement functional UI and 3d tooling that align with our high visual standards deliverables.
- Senior Technical Artist’s primary duties will be integrating art assets (prefabs 2d and 3d), animations, VFX in the game, using the Unity game engine
- Investigate and resolve implementation challenges stemming from UX wireframes and animatics.
- Collaborate with art, design, and development teams to meet to solve technical issues
- Debug and resolve technical issues across a broad range of supported devices.
- Leverage coding skills to create code-hooks for triggering UI animations as needed.
- Profile and optimize visual effects and art assets for performance and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relevant art team documentation.
- Evaluate emerging software and art-authoring techniques to enhance workflows.
- Provide front-line support for pipeline issues and feature requests from the UI art team.
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of industry experience with Unity engine game development.
- Proficiency in C# programming, with knowledge of at least one additional programming language.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Design, UI/UX, Development, and QA teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Clear understanding of cameras, lighting, and shaders in Unity.
- Proficiency of Unity Timeline and experience with Unity’s VFX system (Shuriken).
- Strong grasp of optimization techniques, with experience using profiling tools and managing art content for frame rate and memory budgets.
- Experience optimizing for mobile devices and familiarity with Xcode/Android compilers (desirable but not required).
- Proven ability to author content in After Effects and experience with HLSL/Cg shader coding (desirable but not required).
- Familiarity with Git, Perforce, or similar version control software.
- A passion for games and social networking.
