Job Overview:
Junior Editors assist various departments with editorial support such as prepping continuity reviews, ingesting audio pickups, prepping projects for Animation Directors and addressing minor editorial notes. On delivery nights they assist the editors and productions with creating the deliverables required for that particular show. They are expected to keep constant communication with production and animation and are relied upon to be able to troubleshoot issues that may arise.
Job duties:
- Conforming projects/animatics from the client for Animation
- Ingesting animatics to Shotgrid and preparing audio for Animation
- Assist Animation Directors with editorial questions and concerns.
- Conform animation projects for Colour and final delivery to client.
- Maintain a clean project and timeline to allow ease of swapping between other editors and directors.
- Ingest Comp image sequences for assembly in Colour project.
- Cut in audio pickups and edit revisions as needed and update Shotgrid with changes.
- Assemble/QC project timelines and export for Continuity reviews.
- Maintain the Colour project by keeping it up-to-date leading up to delivery to the client.
- Prepare deliveries to the client. This can include any combination of H264, ProRes, AAF, EDL or Image Sequence exports.
- Ensure all final deliveries are backed up.
- Be on-hand for dailies if production needs assistance.’
- Showcase material during client and guest visits.
- Assist with development projects, preparing clips for award submissions and studio reel cutting.
- Help out with other editorial deliveries, tasks and issues as they may develop to keep the entire department running smoothly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in post-production preferred
- Shotgrid experience preferred
- Excellent organizational & follow-through skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize projects effectively
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Knowledge of basic video codecs
- Experience of working with audio deliverables
This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.
