VFX Compositing Supervisor
Location - EU / Gran Canaria (Hybrid / Onsite)
Contract - Freelance
The Role
We are looking for an experienced VFX Compositing Supervisor to lead a team of Compositors working across Feature Film + HETV projects.
You will work closely with the VFX Supervisor and Production team to oversee the quality and delivery of shots, provide creative and technical guidance and help solve complex compositing challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Compositors
- Review shots and provide clear creative and technical feedback
- Work with VFX Supervisors and Production to manage priorities and delivery
- Collaborate with CG, Lighting, FX, Roto/Paint and Editorial
- Maintain consistency and quality across shots and sequences
- Troubleshoot complex compositing issues
- Help develop efficient workflows and production solutions
- Support shot reviews, bidding and technical breakdowns
- Mentor and develop Compositors within the team
- Help introduce new tools and technologies into the compositing workflow
Experience
- Strong professional experience in VFX Compositing
- Previous experience as a Lead or Supervisor
- Excellent knowledge of Nuke
- Strong understanding of CG integration, colour, lighting and rendering
- Experience with keying, roto, tracking, paint, projections and CG compositing
- Strong eye for detail and photorealism
- Good understanding of the wider VFX pipeline
- Confident working with artists, Supervisors and Production
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
Desirable
- Feature film or high-end episodic VFX experience
- Python or scripting experience
- Experience with ComfyUI or other AI / Generative AI tools
- Experience with tools such as Stable Diffusion, Flux, Runway or Midjourney
- Understanding of AI workflows including image generation, inpainting and image-to-image
- An interest in emerging Creative Technology and how it can be used within VFX production
The Person
A strong Compositor and experienced team leader with a good eye for quality and the ability to work calmly under production pressure.
You will be comfortable working across creative and technical challenges and be interested in new approaches to VFX, including the growing use of AI tools and workflows.
