We're looking for a VFX Supervisor to shape the visual direction of our projects and guide a passionate team from concept to final product.
Based in Tokyo, this is a senior leadership role that combines creative vision with technical confidence. You'll collaborate with directors, production teams, and department leads to bring storytelling to life through outstanding visual effects.

Key Responsibilities
Creative Execution: Uphold the project’s creative vision across departments, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with style and tone.
Client Communication: Present work to clients, lead reviews, and ensure feedback is clearly understood and integrated throughout production.
Team Leadership: Guide department supervisors, leads, and artists to deliver outstanding results while maintaining a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Sequence and Shot Oversight: Supervise key sequences and hero shots to ensure visual continuity, technical accuracy, and storytelling impact.
Problem Solving: Collaborate with CG and pipeline teams to resolve creative or technical challenges efficiently.
Review and Feedback: Lead dailies and reviews, offering constructive direction to keep the project moving forward.
Mentorship: Support artist development through coaching, feedback, and by modelling a respectful, communicative leadership style.
Production Alignment: Work closely with production to balance creative goals with delivery timelines and capacity.
Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards across all final shots, ensuring work meets both internal and client expectations.
Pipeline Insight: Offer feedback on tools and workflows to improve production efficiency.
Bidding Support: Contribute creative and technical input during the bidding phase to help scope and estimate work effectively.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in visual effects, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated success leading teams on high-end VFX productions for film, episodic, or commercial work.
- Strong artistic and technical knowledge across disciplines including compositing, FX, lighting, asset creation, and shot-based workflows.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and production tracking tools (e.g. ShotGrid).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills.
- Experience in client-facing roles and a strong track record of delivering work at the highest standard.
- Familiarity with both Linux and Windows environments and VFX studio infrastructure is essential.
- Proficiency in English is required; Japanese language skills are an asset.
