As CG Animation Supervisor you are responsible for managing the in-house animation team, the quality of the animation, keeping it on-brief and delivering consistent performances by casting the appropriate animators. You will also make sure the creative ambition and production requirements are met, which means you must be able to negotiate across all departments to reach the best outcome for the good of the production.
This opportunity is available from early August 2026, going through to mid March 2027. Please note that this vacancy can close early if we receive a high number of applications.

Day to Day:

Establishing and approving key character animation and animation bible for the series with the Directors.

Working directly with the Production Team and Heads of Departments including Pipeline TD, FX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, and the rest of the Design and Modelling teams to ensure all technology aspects of animation are ready to deliver the performance the Directors requires.

Working with the Directors to deliver their vision, and make sure it’s clear to the animation team.

Guiding, supervising and reviewing the work produced by the Animators and ensuring a high standard of animation is maintained throughout the production, pushing them to ensure that story and comedy are as strong as possible

Writing scene by scene animation notes for each episode and communicating them to the team.

Reviewing animation passes from the internal and external teams and writing notes/drawovers to push animation to the desired standard.

Working closely with the Directors to understand overall storytelling and humour of the show and take ownership of this at the animation stage.

Contributing in discussions on key action moments for each episode at storyboard, and with conversations on story at animatic stage, working with the Directors to ensure the episodes are as strong as possible.

Working to ensure that the Directors’ brief is fulfilled for each episode, taking ownership of ensuring each episode is as strong as it can be

Flagging any potential story issues in animatic reviews / briefings and work with Directors, Storyboard Supervisor and Editors to troubleshoot these issues where appropriate.

Overseeing layout of the episodes, and managing the Layout Artist

Working closely with the animation teams to improve each delivery, being proactive and observant of possible difficulties, and in turn reducing retakes as production proceeds.

Working closely with the Production Team to ensure the animation schedule is adhered to.

Setting up useful talks and presentations for the animation team to help further their development.

Communicating with leads on the team’s performance, flagging any concerns on performance or mental health to Production.

Helping the animation team to develop and progress, and agree on goals for team members and help them develop.

Overseeing performance reviews for the animation team.

Helping with hiring and interviewing for the animation team.

Communicating up and down the pipeline and troubleshooting issues.

Overseeing the crowd animation team, planning resources to ensure that crowd scenes can be delivered as per the schedule.

Speaking to pipeline about developing tools for crowd scenes

Checking that all assets are ready for each episode, communicating with the Production Team, Modelling Team and Rigging Team if anything is missing.
